DIRECT STUDENT LOAN

I currently have 4 student loans out. One in a small loan I plan on taking care of myself. One is Sallie Mae. One is a Federal loan and one is a Direct Loan. I want to reconsolidate my loans and am wondering which company offers the lowest interest rate?

So Sallie Mae loans and Direct loans, I want to consolidate, lower my payment, etc. Once I do that, do they still have options for deferrment, such as lack of income, going back to school, whatever?

if you consolidate, dont go threw an agency, you can do it straight threw the department of education,, its easy, and cuts out the middle man,,, so cheaper, you can set up your consolidation income contingent,,,,, they will base your payments on what you can afford, the direct link to them is http://www.loanconsolidation.ed.gov/borr…
i dont know about the particular place that contacted you, but many of them use names that could easily be confused with the dept of education, or something official,,,,, i went threw it when i was out of work due to a fractured knee,, they wanted money up front, before they would tell me my payments, never told me i could do the same thing direct threw the dept of ed (well i can understand that, lol , they lose money)
the dept of education will base any payments on your income tax return
ps: if you do this, read any mail very very carefully,,,,, i would still receive paperwork, from agencies, that looked very official! always make certain before you sign anything,,,,,,,, for the most part, with consolidation threw dept of ed. ,, you do everything online,, except sign a consent to view IRS records

my student loan has an ok APR, while my car loan has an APR of over 15%, at the time my credit was horrible. But since it has improved.
