Will Joining The Military(through Ots Or Direct Commissioning) Help With Student Loans?

In terms of loan repayment, no. Officers are generally not eligible for the Student Loan Repayment Program (although there may be a few exceptions for certain jobs). It will you give you a steady income to repay your loans though. And if you deploy to a qualifying location (or are activated if in the reserves), certain Federal loans can be deferred until 6 months after you demobilize.

Depends on your MOS. Like with health care professionals (doctors, nurses, etcc) who are direct commission, the Army has the HPLR (health professional student loan repayment) to help with student loans. JAG has something similar, but I don’t know the specifics.

If you haven’t graduated College yet, I know they can help with paying some student loans, and paying for some college. If you have already completed college, than I don’t know.

no…you will come home in a body bag (I really hope not) , and the rest of us will get stuck paying off your loan…please don’t go in the military, and live a long and healthy life.
